About Logarithms

A logarithm answers the question: to what power must a base be raised to produce a given number? This calculator computes \( \log_b(a) \) using the formula:

• \( \log_b(a) = \frac{\log(a)}{\log(b)} \) (change of base formula)

For example, \( \log_{2}(8) = 3 \) because \( 2^3 = 8 \).
